A company new to Volusia County was among the exhibitors at the DeLand Sport Aviation Showcase. SeaMax Aircraft has been working with Team Volusia to establish an assembly facility here and hopes to add manufacturing to its local plant in the near future. At the Showcase, SeaMax Director of International Business Development / USA, Shalom Confessor de Augier do Amaral, and his colleagues exhibited the company’s SeaMax M-22 airplane. It is a popular light sport aircraft with high performance and the versatility to reach a wide variety of terrain. As part of the Customized Business Acceleration Program, SeaMax’s Research & Development department is housed at the John Mica Engineering Aerospace Innovation Complex (MicaPlex) at Embry-Riddle’s Research Park adjacent to the Daytona Beach Campus.
