With the completion of Team Volusia’s Strategy For Success, two new initiatives are commencing. The creation of the Real Estate Task Force to discuss real estate opportunities and issues with the commercial real estate community was established and held the first organizational meeting on March 1.
Team Volusia investor Dwight Selby is the chair of the task force, which will address issues that affect real estate and development of properties in Volusia County. Currently, Volusia County is one of the hottest real estate markets in the country, which is a great thing, but the committee will discuss current and future development opportunities for industrial and commercial properties which can improve Volusia County’s marketability to potential businesses and investors.
Team Volusia Chair Dwight DuRant announced at the February 27, 2018 Board of Directors Meeting the creation of an education committee that will work to address workforce training and development in Volusia County. Working with Robin King, President of CareerSource Flagler/Volusia, the committee is tasked to bring together the educational entities to discuss programs, which are beneficial to the development of the workforce and utilizing those programs in marketing Volusia County to potential employers and employees.
