The Powering Florida Illumination event hosted by Florida Power & Light (FPL) is designed to connect Florida’s economic development professionals with the country’s top corporate real estate executives and site selection consultants. Participants in Illumination experienced an unparalleled opportunity to connect and interact with site selection consultants and corporate real estate executives in a small group setting. Keith Norden and Heather Shubirg attended on behalf of Team Volusia EDC and were joined by Brad Harris, current Acting Director of the Volusia County Division of Economic Development. The compressed schedule minimized time and ensured adequate opportunity to form strong business relationships, freely exchange information and accelerate knowledge of the topics presented. Several Illumination panelists agreed to fully participate in the entire event, including networking and serving on educational panels.
The highlight of this year’s event was a tour through FPL’s impressive headquarters location in Juno Beach, Florida. Participants met with an array of strategic departments to understand the breath of the utility company’s service territory and energy offerings.
