With an aggressive outreach schedule that remains focused on top site location consultants and corporate real estate executives, Team Volusia continues to raise awareness of Volusia County as a premier place for business relocation and expansion. Our business missions and trade shows are developed around our approved targeted industries, as we travel to domestic and international locations.
In addition, our missions and outreach activities are designed to keep this region top of mind among consultants and C-level decision makers. Over 78% of our current projects come directly to Team Volusia from site selectors or the private sector which is a result of these productive business recruitment activities.
We recently joined Enterprise Florida and other Florida communities in participating in a 30-page section in Delta Air Lines’ Sky Magazine promoting Florida as a location for business relocation and expansion. For the entire month of May, all seats on all Delta Air Lines flights had a Delta Sky Magazine in every seat pocket. The special section did a good job of presenting the business credentials of Florida and Volusia County as a preferred location for business and industry. This messaging was globally available to 6,000,000 people, many of whom are traveling on business. I am especially pleased with the number of positive calls and emails we received in response to the article.
In August, Volusia County will be featured in Florida Trend magazine. Special thanks go to the numerous business leaders, elected officials and stakeholders who met or were interviewed by the publisher and Florida Trend key team members. Volusia County was last featured in a 2014 publication of Florida Trend. Therefore, several new projects, developments and new companies will be highlighted in the soon to be released magazine.
On a personal note, last month I was honored to be awarded the IAMC Fellow designation at the International Asset Management Council (IAMC) meeting held in Savannah. IAMC, founded in the summer of 2002, is the premiere manufacturing and industrial real estate trade association for professionals, in the US and abroad. There are currently 150 IAMC Fellows worldwide.
I look forward to our continued success as together we raise the economic vitality of Volusia County.
Best regards,
Keith A. Norden, CEcD
