Team Volusia staff welcomed investors on June 7, 2018, to the Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Downtown Daytona Beach for an Investor Appreciation Social. Even with inclement weather in surrounding areas, 50 people gathered in the Budweiser Bullpen at 5:30 p.m. for Dustin’s BBQ, cold beverages and networking. Reese L. Smith, III, President of the Daytona Tortugas, stopped by the Bullpen to introduce himself and welcome everyone. In addition, Matt Chesnut, Vice President, Business Intelligence & Operations, for Team Volusia, threw out the first ball of the game at 7:15 p.m. after a brief 10-minute rain delay. Spectators enjoyed watching the Daytona Tortugas beat the Clearwater Threshers with a final score of 6-5.
