Team Volusia's Keith Norden was selected as a participant at this year’s annual conference of the Site Selectors Guild (SSG), where the world's foremost professional site selection consultants gather. Guild members provide location strategy to corporations across the globe for every industry, sector and function. Members are peer nominated, vetted, and must demonstrate a significant amount of location advisory experience. Guild membership is the highest standard in the site selection industry. 45 site selector members and five new associate members are considered leaders in the field of site selection. The annual conference included 400+ attendees, which was held in Salt Lake City in March.
Several panel discussions including site selection industry transformation, workforce development and training needs, transformation of tax and incentive practices, digital transformation of the workforce were among the tropics covered.
One of the highlights of this year’s Site Selectors Guild meeting was a presentation on winning the Amazon HQ2 project by the State of Virginia. The panel discussion was moderated by Guild member Mark Williams with fact-filled dialog from Amazon’s Director of Worldwide Economic Development and the President and CEO of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership.
