Excelling on a national scale
According to a report of the CareerSource Flagler Volusia Region released on March 22nd, the statewide mining, logging, and construction industry increased by 20,200 jobs (3.8 percent) from February 2018 to February 2019, making it one of Florida’s most rapidly growing industries. But in the Greater Daytona Region, it is the top industry in terms of growth—with an 11.3 percent increase and 1,500 more jobs. 14,800 Deltona-Daytona Beach-Ormond Beach residents are employed in this industry, making this one of the country’s best metro areas for construction work growth.
This industry growth caught the attention of the Associated General Contractors of America, who ranked Deltona-Daytona Beach-Ormond Beach at no. 19 out of 358 metro areas for its 12-month gain in mining, logging, and construction jobs.
